Welcome to the Jen School kitchen! We are not your typical school kitchen. We are fortunate to have a garden on the premises to supply us with fresh organic vegetables to serve in our lunches. We have been moving away from frozen pre-cooked foods and incorporating more fresh homemade “from scratch” item on our menus.
Our students can also consider our kitchen as another classroom. Teachers and students have opportunities to take over the kitchen for a day, creating the menus and preparing and serving their creations. We call this a “Kitchen Invasion”. Students learn proper food handling techniques and hands on experience in cooking and baking.
We are truly proud of our school kitchen and the involvement of our students and staff in preparing their lunches.
